When a hole appears in a pristine possum’s perfect garden wall, she begins a feud with pesky—or maybe just plain friendly— neighbors.
Leona has been alone for years, and that's how she prefers it. She starts each day with three buttered radishes, and then she tends to her garden. Every rose is in place, every topiary pruned, and her tall stone wall keeps her yard private and pristine.
Until one day, she finds a big hole where a stone should be. The breach in the wall leaves her garden vulnerable to the riffraff of the wild forest beyond. It's not just the creeping vines poking through: Somebody is stealing her veggies!
Leona prepares for drastic measures to defend her domain. But when the weed she was about to whack turns out to be a delicious blackberry bush, she decides to shift gears. A pie, a big scare, and a faked death later, things in the woods come to a head—and a new life for Leona begins, one with a lot more bunnies.
Jordan Morris brings humor and warmth to this timeless story of a cranky loner finding the community she didn’t know she needed.
