The Knave and the Moon

“History has a habit of echoing.” I will not give you a summary (you can read it at the back of the book or if u scroll up a bit). What I am going to give you is my honest opinion. I fell for "The Knight and the Moth" and I fell even harder for "The Knave and the Moon". Rachel Gillig is a brilliant writer, a brilliant story teller and she is brilliant in setting the best atmosphere. She is able to write something that makes me ball my eyes out and makes me laugh so hard two sentences later. "The Knave and the Moon" hit me where it hurts the most and heald me after. If you want to start reading fantasy and you don't mind some romance, read this. It's got a strong female lead, funny characters, great story building, an amazing plot, well-written dialogues and a nice romance. This is perfect to start reading fantasy, this is perfect if you already love fantasy, it's just perfect in general. I really hope you read it and if you do, i hope you will love it, Barthalomew.

I already loved the first book and have been waiting for "The Knave and the Moon" for over a year, and now I can confidently say that this is my favorite duology I have ever read. Rachel Gillig, the woman you are. This series means the world to me, the characters are so dear to my heart and I will dive back into the Stonewater Kingdom any chance I get. If you have read the book, you know what I'm talking about, but certain characters were absolutely infuriating. I was unsure if I would like the second book nearly as much as the first one, but the last 100 pages had me captivated. Everything about this duology is perfect, the characters and their individual developments, the magic system and the worldbuilding. Everything. Not a day has passed in which I did not think about Bartholomew and what Aisling's Cathedral really is...

It has been zero days since I've cried about this book. This was the perfect conclusion to the best duology ever. I am still in shock and can't move on from Bartholomew, Sybil, Rory and Maude. These characters were truly the most fleshed out characters I have ever read about, which is why they will always have a special place in my heart. The romance between Rory and Sybil remains to be unrivaled and I can't believe how loyal they are to each other. This is all anyone wishes for in a romantasy book. Please read this duology if you want poetic prose, emotional depth and lush worldbuilding!
