Behind every Pennsylvania town stands a tapestry of families, founders, and hard-won reputations. Encyclopaedia of Pennsylvania Biography (Volume IV) opens a window onto those lives, gathering detailed sketches of prominent Pennsylvania figures whose stories illuminate community, character, and change across the Commonwealth. Names, dates, lives, legacies endure. As an authoritative Pennsylvania biography reference within the larger american biographical encyclopedia tradition, this volume preserves concise life narratives, family connections, public achievements and local service. Especially valuable for family historians and genealogists, it functions as a rich genealogy research resource, pointing towards church registers, civic roles, and other Pennsylvania genealogy records that anchor people to specific towns and counties. Readers interested in 19th century Pennsylvania, early American Pennsylvania history, and Pennsylvania regional history will find vivid context for countless communities, while researchers of Pennsylvania county histories and Pennsylvania family genealogy will recognise it as a cornerstone of any serious genealogical reference collection. Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure, this new Alpha Editions release of Encyclopaedia of Pennsylvania Biography (Volume IV) brings John W. Jordan's meticulous biographical record back into everyday use, speaking equally to curious local readers, dedicated researchers, and collectors seeking an enduring link with Pennsylvania's documentary past.
